A non-University publication is any publication which is not officially published by the University or by a University-recognized student organization.
Sale & Distribution
Distributing non-University publications through means other than U.S. Mail, whether by sale or otherwise, by people or agencies other than official University divisions, departments and offices, is permitted under the following conditions:
Content - The publication must be intended primarily for dissemination of news, opinion and information, and not for promoting sale of goods, products, or services.
The publication must carry the name and address of the publisher, and the names of the several editors and the officers of the publication.
The publication cannot in any manner state, infer or imply that it is connected with or under the auspices of the University.
Area of Distribution - The sale or distribution on non-University publications is limited to specific outside locations and to those buildings and areas within those buildings in which the University sells commercial publications. Distribution must be confined to areas approved by building coordinator.
Non-University publications must be distributed by individual or by receptacle that do not detract from the building or area, or encourage littering.
Distribution of publication may not constitute a violation of applicable state or federal laws.
Unless the publication is a member of the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the distributor must sent (via U.S. Mail) two copies of each issue which is to be distributed on campus to: General Counsel, 227 University Hall, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri 65211.
